SIOBHAN HALL
VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY
'Enhancing performance and maintaining well being'
Veterinary Physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and/or neurological conditions in animals.
It aims to maintain mobility, independence, function and enhance performance whether that be recovering from an injury, surgery, illness, age related problems or as a general maintenance to help prevent injuries from occurring.
VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY
ASSESSMENT AND HISTORY
During the treatment session a full assessment and detailed history will be taken in order to fully understand the animals condition, fitness and also to ascertain any goals the owner may have.
TREATMENT AND THERAPY
A combination of manual techniques and electrotherapies will be used to treat the animal according to what is found during the assessment process.
EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION
The use of exercises may be prescribed to maintain or enhance muscular strength and proprioception. These are prescribed on an individual basis and monitored for progression purposes.
FOLLOW UP AND CONTINUED SUPPORT
A treatment plan will include follow up appointments if needed. As the Veterinary Physiotherapist, Siobhan will ask for updates on the animals progress and communicate with veterinarians and other professionals if necessary. Siobhan is always at the end of the phone for any queries and happy to help in any way she can.
WHY USE SIOBHAN HALL VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY?
"As a Veterinary Physiotherapist, I believe that it is extremely important to work as part of a team in conjunction with a range of specialists keeping your horse, dog, cat or farm animal working at their peak performance level. This includes maintaining good relationships, sharing knowledge and experience with trainers, owners, riders, farriers, saddlers, dentists and veterinary surgeons to optimise performance and wellbeing.
All animals are treated as individuals with the highest standard of care".
VETERINARY REFERRAL AND CONSENT
In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, it is a legal requirement to obtain veterinary consent prior to the treatment of an injured animal or an animal that has a diagnosed condition*.
*Patients do not require veterinary referral if treatments are for maintenance or fitness purposes only.
This is quick and easy to do. You can either download my veterinary referral form from the links below and give this to your vet to sign either in person or via email, or alternatively you can call your vet and verbally ask for their permission and sign the declaration form confirming you have received consent.
If in doubt, contact Siobhan to directly contact your veterinary surgeon on your behalf.
